Classes and groups are available to individuals with vision loss. LBB does does not charge clients to attend.   • Beginning Orientation & Mobility Training
    Monthly on 2nd & 4th Wednesday
    Beginning Wednesday, February 12th and 26th | 10:30 am to 12:30 pm | LBB
    Group Leader: Jennifer Stephens, TVI COMS
    Orientation is an individual's ability to know where you are in a given space. Mobility is navigating between two places safely, efficiently, and as independently as possible. You will learn white cane techniques as well as human guide instructions. In addition, you will learn how to utilize public transportation.

  • Beginning Cooking Class
    Thursday, January 9th and 16th | 10 am to 2 pm | LBB

  • Beginning Braille Group 
    Monthly on the 3rd Tuesday | Noon to 2 pm
    January 21, February 18, March 18, and April 18
    Group Leader: Janet Acheson, Ed.S. TVI
    You will explore casual and fun uses of braille along with other tactile techniques to engage in the world around you.

  • Intermediate Braille Group 
    Monthly on the 2nd Tuesday | Noon to 2 pm
    February 11, March 11, and April 8
    Group Leader: Janet Acheson, Ed.S. TVI
    You will learn how to apply braille into your daily activities. This group will be helpful for those receiving individual braille lessons at LBB and those who already know braille.

  • Computer Lab - Available to LBB clients
    Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday | 10 am to 3 pm | Please call John at 850-556-3329 to schedule a time.
    In person instruction is available on all computers and assistive technology devices including iPad, iPhone, Android, Braille Displays, Windows PC, Alexa, Chromebook, Mac, FUSION, JAWS, Notetakers, NVDA, OrCam, Windows Magnifier, Windows Narrator, Windows PC, ZoomText Magnifier, and ZoomText Magnifier \ Reader. We also provide practice on Windows PC and typing accuracy skills.

  • Community Groups – Monthly Vision Loss Support Group
    Groups are for seniors who are visually impaired and their family and friends. You are welcome to join a group if you or a loved one are experiencing vision loss. Individuals attending are in all stages of vision loss. 

    • Westminster Oaks – 2nd Wednesday of the month 
      LBB Monthly Vision Loss Support Group
      Wednesday, February 12th | 2:30 – 3:30 pm
      Parry Center - Fireside Room  
      Mark your calendar for the 2nd Wednesday of the month to join LBB’s Vision Loss Support Group for individuals who are visually impaired. You are welcome to join the group if you are experiencing vision loss or have a loved one or friend experiencing vision loss. Individuals attending are in all stages of vision loss.
      Open to the public.

    • Westminster Oaks - Assistive Technology Training
      1st and 3rd Thursday of every month | 10 am to 11:30 am | LBB
      Thursday, February 6th and 20th
      Group Leader: John Ryan, Program Specialist
      Transportation to LBB provided by Westminster Oaks.

      This training will teach how technology (cell phones, tablets, pads, and/or laptops) can provide more independence to individuals with vision loss. Please bring the device you would like to learn more about.

    • Advent Christian Village – 1st Monday of the Month*
